    Meet at 9am at the Château Vieux car park, where we'll meet your guide and the rest of the group. After introductions, we'll walk to the climbing spot where your guide will give you a presentation of the equipment and safety instructions for cliff climbing.


    After familiarising ourselves with the equipment and the rock, we'll also learn how to abseil independently.


    At the end of the day, we'll head to our gîte where we'll enjoy a delicious meal while admiring the view of Mont Aiguille.

Included

Guiding : During your stay, you will be guided by a UIAGM high mountain guide.
Accommodation: You will sleep for two nights in a dormitory in the warm atmosphere of a mountain gîte with a spectacular view of Mont Aiguille.
Meals: All meals are included, from the first meal in the evening to the picnic on the last day.
Technical equipment: Whether it's for climbing, the via ferrata or the ascent of Mont Aiguille, all the technical equipment will be provided (harness, helmet, rope, quickdraws, lanyards, reverso, etc.).

The return journey to the meeting point.
Your climbing shoes: You'll need to bring your own climbing shoes.
Picnic on the first day.

What level should you expect

Level 2
You should be at least 18 years old to participate
The ascent of Mont Aiguille requires the required level to ensure the safety of the group and the quality of the experience, with possible verification by the guide. If the level is insufficient, access may be refused without alternative or reimbursement.

  • You are an experienced hiker, ready to discover easy long route climbing.
  • You already have some climbing experience (minimum level 4c indoor).
  • You should be able to hike easily for about 2 hours with a 600 m Ascent in complete autonomy.
  • You practise an endurance sport 1 or 2 times a week.
  • Please note: You are comfortable with exposure to heights.

If you don't have a car, you should know that we encourage car-pooling between participants by creating a whatsapp group 15 days before departure: an opportunity to get to know each other before you even start your expedition!

What is a Via Ferrata?

A via ferrata is a mountain sports route equipped with cables, ladders, ramps and other devices to facilitate the progress of climbers. This route allows participants to cross vertical or inclined rocky passages in complete safety.

I don't have any climbing experience, can I still take part?

We ask you to be aware of your level. This is not a technically complicated expedition, but you need to be an experienced hiker to ensure you don't succumb to vertigo. You don't need to have any previous climbing experience, but you do need to be physically and mentally fit to be able to climb with confidence.

How comfortable are the rooms in the gîte?

The gîte has the typical charm of mountain accommodation, nestling at the foot of Mont Aiguille. It comprises a dormitory room with a single bed for each guest.

Why is Mont Aiguille so emblematic?

Its first ascent, on 26 June 1492, is considered to mark the birth of mountaineering. Easily recognised by its "tooth" shape, Mont Aiguille quickly became a must-see mountain.

What apprenticeships are being promoted?

On this trip, you'll learn how to climb a cliff while acquiring essential safety skills. You'll learn to climb, belay and abseil in complete safety. You will have the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the void and the rock through different experiences: on climbing walls, on a via ferrata and during an alpine ascent.

How difficult is it to climb Mont Aiguille?

Mont Aiguille is an alpine climb, on vertical terrain that requires you to be comfortable with the exposure of the void on its normal route. Somewhere between mountaineering and very easy climbing (3c max), it's the perfect introduction to the long route for beginners. Being accompanied by a UIAGM-certified guide means you'll be able to climb with complete peace of mind, while learning essential techniques such as roping up, belaying and long route progression. It's also an opportunity to fully experience the ascent of this legendary peak in the Vercors, through the eyes and experience of a passionate professional.

Are instalment payment options available?

Can I privatise this expedition for my group?

Yes, all our expeditions can be privatised for a group already formed, on the dates of your choice.

What happens if the weather is bad?

At Wildhartt, nature is our playground, rain or shine. Rain, snow or wind: our guides adapt the itinerary, activities and accommodation to guarantee you the best possible experience.
Unless safety is at stake (storm, avalanche, flood...).


In this exceptional case, we can cancel an expedition, at least one week before departure.

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.
