We meet at the Ancolie Bleue gîte at 9am for a welcome coffee and to get to know the group and guide. We will then collect our ski touring equipment from our local DiscoveRent partner and begin our first day of ski touring.

To offer maximum flexibility and ensure you ski the best snow, we've set up our base camp in a gîte nestled in the heart of the Queyras massif. On some days, short drives of less than 20 minutes will be required to explore this wild paradise.

Our itineraries are carefully selected according to weather conditions and the wishes of the group, while maintaining our signature of adventure and discovery. The choice is vast, with endless possibilities.

On the first day, we could set off to discover the Chalvet ridge, offering splendid panoramic views. The altitude and serenity of these secluded spots allow us to immerse ourselves completely in the wilderness of the Alps.

In the evening, we'll come back to the gîte for a delicious meal.

Second day of star skiing. After a hearty sportsman's breakfast, we set off for our second hike among the larches and high snow.

We could continue with routes such as the peaks of the Col du Tronchet or the no-man's-land of the Col de la Mayt, a unique traverse through unspoilt land, offering a feeling of discovery of unspoilt landscapes.

We return to the gîte at the end of the afternoon to enjoy a delicious meal in a convivial atmosphere.

Gîte

Third and final day of star skiing before our mini ski tour. Whether it's the summit of Gilly (2467m) or the Col de la Lauze via the Marassan forest, we'll be immersed in all that the Queyras has to offer: powder snow and open larch forests.

After a busy day, we'll return to our gîte for our last evening.

After our last night at the gîte, we pack our bags and set off on our first day of the mini-hike in the Molines en Queyras sector, between small open larch forests and passes to cross.

That evening, we'll spend the night in an isolated mountain hut, where we'll enjoy a delicious meal cooked by the hut warden.

Supervision: During these 5 days you will be accompanied by Thibaut: an experienced guide who will share his passion for the mountains with you.
Accommodation:You will spend 3 nights in a gîte and 1 night in a refuge, both of which are comfortable, authentic and right in the heart of the Queyras.
Catering: All meals are included, from the first meal in the evening to lunch on the last day.
Safety equipment: A safety kit (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe) is provided by your guide.

Departure is confirmed 15 days in advance for adventures lasting more than 4 days. Departure is confirmed 7 days prior to departures of less than 4 days.

Frequently asked questions

What equipment do we need?

Once your registration has been confirmed, we'll send you a personalised roadbook for your trip containing all the practical information you need, including a list of equipment you'll need to take.

Will I have to carry a rucksack on the various hikes?

No, as we'll be doing star hikes for the first three nights at the gîte, you won't have to carry your whole rucksack, as you can leave most of your belongings there and only take a light bag with you on the hikes. However, for the mini-raid with a night in a refuge on the 4th night, you will have to carry your rucksack on the 4th and 5th days, as no luggage transfer is planned.

How big is the group?

For this expedition, we prefer a group of no more than 6 people so that your guides have time to concentrate on each of you.

What do I do if I need to hire ski touring equipment?

If you don't have your own ski touring equipment (touring skis, skins, knives, poles), we can hire it for you: all you have to do is pick it up from the local shop with your guide on the first day of the expedition.

How comfortable are the gîte and refuge?

The gîte and high mountain refuge offer a certain level of comfort: you'll sleep in beds with blankets provided (just bring a meat bag for hygiene reasons). You'll also have access to hot showers, and the gîte is equipped with heating, so you can rest easy after an intense day.

⛈ What happens if the metreo is wrong?

If the weather is bad but does not represent a danger to participants during the expedition, the activity will continue. If the weather becomes dangerous, the activity will be cancelled and replaced by an alternative offered by our professional guides.

What is included in the price of a DiscoveRent shipment?

At Wildhartt, we attach particular importance to price transparency for our shipments. Our approach is based on a clear breakdown of costs, aimed at providing a better understanding of the elements included in the total amount. Here's how we allocate the percentages:

  • 30% for our guides: We believe that our experienced guides play a crucial role in the success of each activity. That's why we make sure we allocate a significant proportion to pay for their expertise and supervision.
  • 35% for accommodation and food: We consider comfortable accommodation and quality food to be essential elements of an enriching experience.
  • 10% for equipment and transport: The safety and comfort of our participants is paramount. With this part of the total amount, we can guarantee that the equipment required is in excellent condition and adequate for each activity. Transport costs also come into play when they are essential during an expedition.
  • 25% for expedition participation and running costs: These costs cover the logistical, administrative and organisational aspects of the expedition, as well as the overall management of the experience, from start to finish.

Can I privatise this expedition for my group?

Yes, all our expeditions can be privatised for a group already formed on the dates of your choice. To make a privatisation request, go to the expedition of your choice and privatise it using the button under the "see departures" button.
