Hi guys,

If you're looking for an expedition that combines physical effort, grandiose landscapes and extreme conditions, let me tell you about my ski touring and sailing adventure in the Lyngen Alps with Wildhartt.

For a week, I pushed my limits between frozen fjords, technical climbs and descents overlooking the Norwegian Sea.

Ready to embark? Here's my story.

Day 1: Tromsø, the gateway to the Arctic

The adventure begins in Tromsø, the vibrant city north of the Arctic Circle. You immediately feel the call of adventure: northern lights in the sky, snow-capped peaks on the horizon, and a crew ready to go. After a quick presentation of the programme, we weighed anchor. The yacht glides silently through the fjords, gradually revealing the majesty of the Lyngen Alps. In the evening, over dinner on board, I can already feel the team spirit forming.

Day 2: First tracks on Arnøya

Wake up on board, with a view of the island of Arnøya. The scene is set: steep mountains plunging into the sea, polar lights and immaculate snow. We put on our skis and begin the ascent of Arnøyhøgda (1170m). The climb is steep and demanding, but every bend offers breathtaking views. At the top, it's an explosion of sensations: a spectacular descent, where adrenalin and wonder combine.

Back on board for a sauna in a small local village, a Nordic tradition that warms us up before a peaceful evening in the fjord.

Day 3: Glacier and solitude on Jøkelfjord

Today we head for Jøkelfjord and its glacier, Øksfjordjøkelen. Few words can describe the feeling of being alone in the world in this isolated fjord, surrounded by majestic mountains. After an early disembarkation, we set off to climb a remote summit. The snow was perfect, and the descent to the boat was pure pleasure. This day will remain engraved in my memory: it's for moments like these that I live adventure.

Day 4: Between peaks and fjords on Reinfjord

Each day seems to surpass the last. The Reinfjord welcomes us today with its sharp peaks and challenging descents. We chose a daring route, making the most of the powdery conditions as far as the valley where the boat picks us up. These logistics, perfectly orchestrated by the Wildhartt team, ensure that we make the most of our time on skis. The evening on deck, with the sun beating down on the mountains, is a moment of pure happiness.

Day 5: Exploring the peaks of Frakkfjorden

With the weather on our side, we head further north to explore the mountains around Frakkfjorden. These peaks offer a variety of routes, mixing technical sections with flowing descents with sea views. The group is in perfect harmony, with everyone finding their place, supporting each other and challenging themselves. It's this kind of dynamic that makes an expedition like this unique.

Day 6: Final challenges on the island of Kågen

For the penultimate day, we head for Kågen, an island renowned for its memorable descents. We chose an ambitious route, with a sustained climb and demanding conditions. At the top, I feel immensely proud: the challenge has been met, and the descent is a pure delight. In the evening, we enjoy a final dinner on board, with laughter, anecdotes and the shared feeling of having experienced something exceptional.

Day 7: Final descent and return to Tromsø

To bring the expedition to a close, we choose a final summit, depending on the conditions and the wishes of the group. The Vannøya and Ringvassøya mountains offer perfect lines to say goodbye to this incredible playground. Back in Tromsø, we parted with the promise of seeing each other again on a future adventure.

My assessment: an extreme adventure that lived up to expectations

This expedition to the Lyngen Alps was much more than just a sporting experience. It was a total immersion in the Arctic, a physical and mental challenge, and unforgettable moments of camaraderie. The Wildhartt guides were able to create an adventure that was both demanding and accessible, where each participant could challenge himself or herself.

If, like me, you're looking for adrenalin, technical challenges and extraordinary landscapes, look no further than this expedition. Go for it, you won't regret it. 💪❄️
