On the programme
The Formiga Canyon

Meet at 9am in front of the hotel with the guide, because for this first discovery of the Sierra de Guara, you will explore the Formiga canyon. Formiga is the most representative canyon of canyoning activity. Accessible to all, it is perfect for discovering the techniques of abseiling while enjoying a spectacular setting.

We start with a pleasant walk in the gorges, before immersing ourselves in the descent of the canyon. The Formiga offers a wide variety of passes: natural slides, jumps (optional), and easy reminders. The clear and cool water makes this descent particularly refreshing.

The last part, more open, allows you to enjoy the serene atmosphere of this canyon while offering beautiful sensations. The return takes little effort by going back for 10 minutes to the parking lot.

DAY 3 / 6

On the programme
The Vero River Canyon

After breakfast at 8:30 am, you have a meeting in the village of Alquezar, where your guide awaits you for the second canyon: the Rio Vero. Bordered by wide red cliffs, the waters of the Rio Vero meander in immense chaos of blocks.

This aquatic maze offers the opportunity to learn the practice of canyoning: small jumps, slides, waterfalls, natural jacuzzis are on the program, in a very fairytale atmosphere worthy of a movie set. After this first discovery, you can discover the alleys of the medieval city of Alquezar.

In the evening, enjoy a friendly moment to taste local specialties in a tapas bar of the village and enjoy a variety of typical dishes at your own pace.

A Via Ferrata and the Dry Virgin Canyon

From Rodellar, a very aerial route to discover the fantastic scenery of the Sierra de Guara. This via ferrata climbs up a cliff using metal rungs to climb into the canyon of Mascun.

Two passages, more vertical and aerial than the others, constitute its main difficulties. When you reach the top of the via ferrata at the Ermita de la Virgen, you will discover a unique panorama on the village of Rodellar and the entire plateau of the Sierra de Guara.

The descent is through the dry canyon of the Virgen: 3 aesthetic reminders in a gorge with smooth and sculpted walls, for a gentle return to the bottom of the canyon of the Mascun.

DAY 5 / 6

On the programme
The Peonera Canyon

We go to discover our third canyon of the Sierra de Guara: la Peonera. The Peonera canyon is undoubtedly one of the most aquatic in the Sierra de Guara. It is characterized by a smooth limestone parade very aesthetic where the water is green and transparent.

This descent offers many playful passages: waterfalls, long swimming passages, a wide variety of jumps and siphons, all avoidable. After this day of adventure, you will have plenty of time to relax and taste local specialties in one of the restaurants or bars of Rodellar, at your convenience.

DAY 6 / 6
On the programme
The Balcès Canyon

After our breakfast, we take the departure to our last canyon: los oscuros de Balcès. This very steep canyon is located in a wild area of the Sierra de Guara, in the valley of the Rio Isuala. After an approach walk in a very mountainous setting, we reach the bottom of a valley bordered by high cliffs with bright colors.

This hyper impressive canyon but quite easy to navigate offers many interesting passages: slides, rappels, swimming, syphons and jumps. The return takes a little effort going up a path for 30 minutes in an oak forest. After returning to the cars, it will be time to say goodbye.
