Itinerary

DAY 1 / 1
Activity time
6 hours climbing

We'll meet at 9am at the climbing site in Yvoir to get to know your guide and the rest of the group. There won't be any crowds here: there will be a maximum of 5 of you, so the instructor can concentrate fully on each of you.

After a briefing, it's time to get kitted out: harness, helmet and rope in hand: it's off for an introduction to the basics of safety. Once you've mastered belay techniques, it's time for your first ascents in a top-rope on routes suited to your level. With the personal attention of your guide, you'll be able to progress quickly and confidently.

After a well-deserved picnic break, we start again with a new objective: to learn how to lead climb and handle belay ropes.

The day ends at 5 p.m. with a debriefing to share everyone's progress.

I'm the manager of Le Cabri (a not-for-profit climbing organisation in the Namur region for your children), I'm in charge of management training in Belgium and I've been teaching climbing for 12 years.

I'm passionate about climbing and I'm very active in many different aspects of the sport, because my aim is to understand the finer points of this wonderful activity! I want to, and do, approach climbing in all its forms! To open my mind as much as possible to everything that climbing can offer me in my way of life. I want climbing to guide my whole life and be a great example for the people I have the pleasure of working with! :-)
