As soon as your registration is finalised, you'll receive a full list of what you need to bring with you. In the meantime, here's what you'll need to be ready to hit the slopes: Your touring skis with suitable bindings Skins Poles Ski touring boots avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe Helmet Technical clothing (breathable layers, waterproof jacket, ski trousers) Gloves, hat, mask or sunglasses Rucksack (30-40L) with ski rack Water bottle or thermos And of course, sun cream and lip balm to keep out the cold! What's the weather like in March and April in Lyngen?

Get ready for a real Nordic winter! Temperatures range from -10°C to 5°C, with snow and occasional sunshine (perfect for admiring the scenery). The climate can change quickly, so make sure you wear mountain clothing that's wind- and moisture-resistant. And don't forget, the fjords often offer milder conditions than the peaks!

What is the guide/participant ratio?

There will be a maximum of 7 participants, accompanied by an experienced skipper and a bilingual (French/English) UIAGM/IFMGA guide. In rare cases, the French-speaking guide may be replaced by an English-speaking guide. Don't worry, though, as this will in no way affect the quality of supervision. This configuration is perfect for guaranteeing personalised guidance, optimum safety and the ability to adapt to each person's level and wishes. All in a friendly, almost 'family' atmosphere. You'll feel right at home, but in the middle of a Nordic adventure!

How comfortable is our typical home?

Welcome to our cosy log cabin in Målselv, a Norwegian gem in the heart of the wilderness. Surrounded by pine forest and a stone's throw from a husky farm, this traditional cabin exudes history and authenticity. It's the perfect place for a peaceful break from the hustle and bustle, where you can relax in your own private sauna after a day's adventure. Its location is ideal for exploring the wonders of the region, and inside you'll find all the comforts you need: a bright living area with open-plan kitchen and three cosy bedrooms, perfect for recharging your batteries.

Where is our accommodation located?

Our accommodation is in Målselv, in the heart of the magnificent Øvre Dividal National Park. This unique location is a charming husky farm, offering a unique and authentic experience in the midst of the Norwegian wilderness. With its strategic location between Senja, Tromsø and Tamokdalen, it's an ideal base from which to explore the region's wonders.

How will the shuttle service between the accommodation and the ski areas work?

Travel between our accommodation and the various ski areas will be organised by comfortable mini-bus, specially dedicated to the group. On certain days, particularly on the island of Kågen or in the remote fjords, we can also use a speedboat to reach areas that are inaccessible by road. This option, which adds a dimension of adventure and exclusivity to your stay, will be organised according to the conditions and the group's preferences, at an additional cost if chosen. Thanks to these logistics, we maximise your time on skis and minimise travel, while guaranteeing privileged access to the region's most spectacular scenery.

Can I hire equipment on site?

Of course you can! You can easily hire the equipment you need directly when you book on our website. We work with the best ski rental shops in Tromsø. Your guide will collect your equipment so that it's ready when you arrive. That said, if you have your own equipment, it's always better: it will already fit you perfectly, and you'll feel more comfortable on the slopes.

What happens if I have to cancel my expedition to Lapland?

We strongly recommend that you take out individual cancellation insurance. If you wish to cancel your participation in an expedition in Lapland, simply send us an email. As soon as we receive your cancellation email, we will apply cancellation charges according to the date on which the cancellation is made: Cancellation charges: - More than 10 weeks before departure: the deposit is non-refundable. - Between 31 days and 10 weeks before departure: 75% of the total amount will be retained. - Between 0 and 30 days before departure: 100% of the total amount will be retained. If the weather is bad but does not represent a danger to participants during the expedition, the activity will continue. If the weather becomes dangerous, the activity will be cancelled and replaced by an alternative offered by our professional guides.

What is included in the price of a DiscoveRent shipment?

At Wildhartt, we attach particular importance to price transparency for our shipments. Our approach is based on a clear breakdown of costs, aimed at providing a better understanding of the elements included in the total amount. Here's how we allocate the percentages:

  • 30% for our guides: We believe that our experienced guides play a crucial role in the success of each activity. That's why we make sure we allocate a significant proportion to pay for their expertise and supervision.
  • 35% for accommodation and food: We consider comfortable accommodation and quality food to be essential elements of an enriching experience.
  • 10% for equipment and transport: The safety and comfort of our participants is paramount. With this part of the total amount, we can guarantee that the equipment required is in excellent condition and adequate for each activity. Transport costs also come into play when they are essential during an expedition.
  • 25% for expedition participation and running costs: These costs cover the logistical, administrative and organisational aspects of the expedition, as well as the overall management of the experience, from start to finish.

Our aim is to provide you with a trustworthy, high-quality experience, while being transparent about how the final cost of your shipment is shared. If you have any further questions about our prices, please contact us here.
