Itinerary

DAY 1 / 3
Night
Refuge
Distance
14km
D+
770m

We'll meet up at 9am in Bois d'Amont, near the Tourist Office, before heading for Pré de Bière,a just 20 minutes away under the Col du Marchairuz in Switzerland. Once there, we'll have a briefing and check our equipment before starting our raid.

Arriving on the high plateaus, we'll cross immense white spaces reminiscent of Lapland. Our goal is to climb Mont Tendre, the highest peak in the Swiss Jura (1679 m)! From up there, a breathtaking view stretches out over the Alps and the entire Jura chain.

We then continue on our way to the Cabane de Cunay, an isolated refuge nestled in the heart of the mountains. Its location overlooking the Alps and its ambience make it an ideal haven of peace for a restorative night's sleep. We'll make the most of this warm and welcoming place, where we'll spend the evening and the night.

DAY 2 / 3
Night
Refuge
Distance
14km
D+
110m

After a good night's sleep in the hut, the longest day's hiking awaits us. We begin our route with a gradual descent to the Col du Marchairuz (1447 m), before plunging into the Combe des Amburnex, a veritable geological masterpiece. This is one of the longest and most majestic combs in the Jura, alternating between open landscapes and areas shaded by spruce trees.

We climb up to the crêt de la neuve, where we once again enjoy an unobstructed view of the Alps. At the end of the path, we come to the Pralets refuge, an authentic Jura alpine chalet. A convivial atmosphere awaits us, ideal for enjoying local specialities together.

DAY 3 / 3
Night
Refuge
Distance
11km
D+
270m

On our final day, we'll head for the combe des Bégnines at an altitude of almost 1500m. This is a perched syncline, a vast grazing area in summer that takes on a northern feel in winter. It's a pleasant walk to the view of Geneva and the Chalet à Roch, an area of alpine chalets.

Lunch should be taken on the way down, before discovering the wide-open spaces of the Amburnex drier and its chalet. A short ascent takes us straight back to the starting point of our hike.

NB: The program might be changed due to weather conditions.

I discovered the joys of the mountains at a very early age, and very quickly knew that this was where I belonged. My career in the Troupes de Montagne and the Gendarmerie, as well as my assiduous practice of various mountain sports, have enabled me to develop a wide range of skills. My training as a mountain leader has enriched this know-how, and today I live my passion to the full, sharing it with you.

What equipment do we need?

Once your registration has been confirmed, we'll send you a personalised roadbook for your trip containing all the practical information you need, including a list of equipment you'll need to take.

Will I have to carry a rucksack on the various hikes?

Yes, as we'll be doing a roaming tour, you'll have to carry your rucksack on the hikes as we don't plan to transfer your luggage.

How do I know if I have the level required to take part?

Do you feel up to walking around 12km a day for 3 days? You're not afraid of carrying your rucksack all the way? Ideally, you'll do an endurance sport at least 1x a week, so you've got what it takes for this expedition!

How comfortable are the rooms?

The refuges offer a certain level of comfort: you will sleep in a single bed in a room shared with the other participants. Blankets are provided, but it is advisable to bring a sleeping bag for reasons of hygiene. There will be heating, showers and electrical sockets.

What is included in the price of a DiscoveRent shipment?

At Wildhartt, we attach particular importance to price transparency for our shipments. Our approach is based on a clear breakdown of costs, aimed at providing a better understanding of the elements included in the total amount. Here's how we allocate the percentages:

  • 30% for our guides: We believe that our experienced guides play a crucial role in the success of each activity. That's why we make sure we allocate a significant proportion to pay for their expertise and supervision.
  • 35% for accommodation and food: We consider comfortable accommodation and quality food to be essential elements of an enriching experience.
  • 10% for equipment and transport: The safety and comfort of our participants is paramount. With this part of the total amount, we can guarantee that the equipment required is in excellent condition and adequate for each activity. Transport costs also come into play when they are essential during an expedition.
  • 25% for expedition participation and running costs: These costs cover the logistical, administrative and organisational aspects of the expedition, as well as the overall management of the experience, from start to finish.

Our aim is to provide you with a trustworthy, high-quality experience, while being transparent about how the final cost of your shipment is shared. If you have any further questions about our prices, please contact us here.
